Having been involved in a number of these proceedings over the past few decades, from start to finish, I am in a position to shed some light on a number of items/issues related to this process. HE investors are at a critical juncture. This is where key decisions have to be made by the group as a whole. The more the HE Investor group can coordinate efforts in an efficient and timely fashion, the better things will be for everyone. The decisions made now will determine the outcome, be it in 3 months or 3 years. If we are unable to organize and work together in a unified fashion with a singular voice, the situation will rapidly deteriorate into a “free-for-all” to the detriment of all. We really only get one chance to do this properly. In somewhat of a prioritized order, here are some issues that should be addressed before too long…< openLetter.docx (15.82 KB)> ** at the risk of losing this document within the many threads on this forum, I felt obligated to create a new thread.

A note on polls - The polls are based on the percent of investors, but the reality is that each investor's vote is weighted by the number of shares held. By now, we are aware that H.E.'s management plan was accepted by the majority of shareholders but rejected because one investor rejected it who holds a large number of shares. So existing polls may reflect the population's voice but true polls need to be weighted according to shares held. RIght?
Was the management plan accepted by the majority of shareholders or was it rejected by the majority of shares. There is a big difference there. In any case, the process was quite flawed and the should have been undertaken by a third party not attached to the company in any way.

I am too opposed to HarbourEdge holding back my funds for "dog ate my homework" excuse
I entered the fund in 2015 a few months prior to the dividend collapse. When a fund constantly slashes the dividend over 5 years, that is sign of trouble, big trouble.
You take your money and run not wait for some kind of miracle to restore the value lost due to managers' incompetence.
I heard this Forum is no "teacher's pet" for HE, I hope to be able to speak without being threatened with "legal action"

Hi Barb, First, are you receiving HarbourEdge investor emails? If not, and you would like to receive them, you can reach out to investorshe@gmail.com As issues emerge, the email is sent to fellow investors to attempt to keep them up to date on all matters concerning HE, responding particularly to HE management emails sent to investors. I also have an issue similar to yours - if you care to share, who suggested that you enter the fund. And what attracted you to that particular investment?

Welcome to our forum, Barb!
We do our best to figure out how to recover our HE investment, that just became a lot more hard to predict in the new economic context

Thank you, nemesis , I already receive the emails from investorshe@gmail.com I also followed this forum lately and get used to reading its posts, now since it's locked I had to register to be able to get in. To be honest I am not very good at posting, but with the world upside down I'll contribute at least with questions How did I get in HarbourEdge? My accountant recommended me to park some money in a MIC and he gave me a list of 3 MICs with HarbourEdge (on the top, his favorite), Westboro, and Romspen. Unfortunately I made the wrong choice and invested in the first not necessarily for dividend (HarbourEdge had 9%, while the other two 8%, not big difference), but I liked their Preservation of capital promise and the redemption amount the same as the paid-up amount. My accountant told me that the CEO is heavily invested in the fund.

I can tell you one thing that you can take to the bank - the CEO is not heavily invested in the fund. So either your accountant misrepresented this to you or this was the story he/she was told and did not verify it. Its this kind of misrepresentation (or lying if you will) that makes me especially crazy. Unless of course the CEO took an ELO - which is a scary possibility.

It occurs to me after reading Barb's response that it might be interesting to hear from other investors as to how and when they became involved with investing in HE. The more information that is out there, the easier it is to see a pattern emerge.
